This place is tiny there’s only about three or four little tables and can seat eight people max probably just a to go place for most people. It also sits on Madison, a pretty busy street so expect exhaust fumes and traffic noise along with your meal. I ordered the braised beef cheeks buns and the pad thai for about 12 dollars after tax. All the food was served up super quick in about 5-6 minutes.
The Braised beef cheeks buns were a nice little appetizer while you wait for while you await your main course. Initially, I was a little disappointed that there was only a little chunk of beef in the bun but that little thing had so much flavor my disappointment quickly dissipated. You add in the saltiness form the sauce and the freshness from the cilantro and you got the perfect two or three bites of one of the best appetizers I’ve ever had.
As for the pad thai, it wasn’t packaged in a normal plastic or styrofoam box; these guys throw it in some butcher paper and wrap it up with a rubber band…quite ingenuous. They also don’t throw in the spices, peanuts, or sugar into the pad thai so you can customize how much (or little) you want. The noodles were alright…it was a little chewy which made it difficult to pull it apart with chopsticks but it seems to soak up a lot of the flavor. Flavor-wise, it had the normal pad thai sweet, salty, peanuty, lime flavor. All in all it was a pretty good pad thai. It wasn’t the best I’ve had; definitely nothing compared to Thai Tom in the you district. I would probably just order up a few of the braised beef cheek buns next time and just pass on the pad thai or try some of the other entrees.
Note – Biggest negative is that parking in the area is awful but most places this part of Seattle is going be the same.
